Anne-Sophie COHEN

Director of “Ateliers d’Art Walser”, Anne Sophie Cohen succeeded to her father, Philippe Walser, in 2009.  5 generations of professionals came before her. Married and mother of three, she skillfully manages a team of 8 to 10 “Compagnons”. She is advised by her father and assisted by her deputy trainer Bastien Ruhland.

She started training in the family workshop as young as 14. She was  a trainee for 3 years. Having passed her “Professional Diploma”, she pursued her level 4 studies in the Applied Art School “Compagnons des Walser” and became restorer/conserver of furniture.

In order to broaden her knowledge, she strengthened her scholarship with several work placements in France and Europe:

  • Preservation (Archeological Museum of Liege – acknowledged and congratulated by the Chief Curator)
  • Marquetry at Lacroix-Marec, Paris
  • Interior decoration in Corsica
  • Medieval Illumination alongside Renaud Marlier in a Cistercian Abbey
  • Industrial Furniture Company
